Our 100% Local-First Promise

GATE Civil Tracker does not transmit your study hours, mock test marks, weak area notes, or syllabus progress to any backend server. Everything stays securely on your browser device.

1. Information We Store

When you use GATE Civil Tracker, the application stores your preparation metrics locally in your web browser via standard HTML5 localStorage. This data includes:

  • Syllabus checklist completion states (sub-topic checkboxes).
  • PYQ practice counts, years, and optional topics logged.
  • Topic test, subject test, and full-length mock test scores, percentiles, and notes.
  • Revision stage counters (1st, 2nd, and Final revision records).
  • Daily study streaks and unlocked gamification achievement badges.
  • Custom tracker target settings and subject weight configurations.

2. Zero Server Storage & No User Accounts

Unlike traditional cloud services, we do not require you to create an account, enter an email address, or provide a password. There is no central database or user profile system on our servers storing your study habits or test series scores.

3. Data Export, Import & Complete Ownership

Because your data lives in your browser, you maintain total ownership over your records:

Export Data

Download your full tracker progress at any time as an unencrypted .json file for safe offline backups.

Import Data

Restore your progress on a new laptop, desktop, or mobile phone by simply importing your backup file.

Reset / Erase

Use the "Reset" button on the header to immediately wipe all stored records from your browser cache.

4. Cookies & Tracking Technologies

GATE Civil Tracker does not use advertising cookies, marketing pixels, or invasive session-recording trackers. We believe students should be able to focus purely on their preparation without commercial tracking or distraction.

5. Third-Party CDN Assets

Our website serves static web assets through modern CDN providers to deliver rapid page loads:

  • Google Fonts: For high-legibility typography (Outfit & Inter fonts).

These external services process standard HTTP request headers (e.g. IP address, browser user-agent) strictly for delivering font and graphical assets securely.
